Jacques Townhouse

I am extremely pleased (and overly excited) to announce that I will be the in-house vintage stylist for Jacques Townhouse this year - woohoo!

Sophie Ellis-Bextor at last years event

If you didn't make it last year or don't know what I'm talking about, you have been missing out. In the words of The Guardian, Jacques Townhouse is a "pop-up hotel-cum-beauty parlour 'soirée' venue in central London that looks like Alice's Wonderland on a sugar high, all candy-floss trees and frosted pink cupcakes". This year the Townhouse will be in London (19-28 July) and Liverpool (10-19 August).

This year the Wardrobe of Wonders will feature some truly beautiful vintage and vintage-inspired pieces provided by the brilliant Rokit Vintage. You can come along and play dress-up with me and then get snapped in the Jacques photo shoot studio. There is a ton of other stuff to look at and enjoy too, so it's definitely worth a trip.

If you want tickets, all you have to do is head over to the Jacques Facebook page and request some. Not only that, but the tickets are FREE! It doesn't get much better than that, surely?! And if you do come, please come and say hi to me! In turn I promise to give you lots of pretty things to wear.Link

Video: the FINAL video of Ayten Gasson’s SS12 collection

Exciting news everyone! The final and complete video of Ayten Gasson’s stunning SS12 collection is now online, and it's bloody beautiful. I had such an amazing time styling this, and I think the video shows just how much fun we all had on the day. Check it.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to the lovely Ayten for letting me play with her underwear (oo-err), my good friend Alex Oliver for making such a stunning video and to everyone else who was involved.

Come back for more video fun soon!

Events: Fuschia PR's Summer Fete

Last week I attended the press day for Fuschia PR. Although Fuschia represent some brands that are not to my personal taste, they had some great pieces on display and I really enjoyed the whole event. It was held outside (very unusual for a press day) at The Phoenix Garden, a beautiful local community garden in central London, and there was even a tombola!

Some of my favourite pieces from the day included pretty dresses from the Sugarhill Boutique and studded wedges from Feud. To make the day even better, I also won a pair of these Native shoes!

Although they may look rather strange, they are probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! They've also done a range of hiking and snow boots which are rather nuts. But the good kind of nuts. Like cashews.

Thanks for having me, Fuschia PR! Come back for more photos from events soon, won't you?

Video: Behind the scenes with Ayten Gasson

A little while ago I posted some behind the scenes photos from the Lookbook I styled for the amazing lingerie designer Ayten Gasson. Photos are all well and good, but wouldn't you rather see a video? Well, you are in luck! My very lovely and talented friend Alex Oliver filmed the whole day, and has released a sneaky snippet of the footage - check it out, won't you?

Behind the scenes: photoshoot with India Hobson

Today was a brilliant day! Not only did I get to work with India Hobson, a photographer whose work I have long admired, but I also got to style my good friend Skye, who also happens to be a brilliant model. We also had the very lovely Nina Fay doing the make up, so the team was great all round.

We shot in a beautiful house in Islington, and we weren't alone - Casper the friendly cat was on stand by to give Skye his top posing tips...and to try and steal attention!

The theme of the shoot was dreamy, sleepy and romantic, which gave me the opportunity to use amazing pieces by some incredible designers including Draw in Light, Ayten Gasson, bourne by Elise Berger and Fable London. I may have also snuck in some cheeky Swell Vintage pieces, but it all worked in context - promise! I've got the behind the scenes snaps to prove it too.

Thanks for an amazing afternoon, ladies!

Photographer: India Hobson
Model: Skye
Make up and hair: Nina Fay

I can't wait to share the pictures with the world very soon, so come back soon!

Behind the scenes: Ayten Gasson lookbook shoot

Yesterday I had the pleasure of styling the next two lookbooks for Ayten Gasson, an absolutely stunning vintage-inspired lingerie line. Ayten's pieces are all about decadence and luxury, so it was perfectly fitting that we were shooting at The Pavilion, a quirky hotel near Hyde Park where each room was decorated to a different insanely elaborate theme.

There was a lot to get through (two seasons worth of lingerie), but fortunately we had a big team of dedicated and talented folk. We also had my good friend Alex Oliver filming all of the action, so keep your eyes peeled for some video action very soon. Our aim was to produce high fashion images that showcase Ayten's lingerie to its fullest potential, and based on what I saw on the day I think we definitely succeeded. It definitely helps when you have amazing lingerie, two beautiful models and a highly professional team around you!

But enough talk - feast your eyes on some behind the scenes snaps taken on my brand new camera!

I want to say thank you to everyone involved! It was a long day, but we got through it with amazing results:
I also have a sneaky peek at one of the final images. Enjoy, and come back for more soon, won't you?
