Behind the scenes: photoshoot with Claire Huish

Last weekend, I woke uncharacteristically early for a Saturday and headed over to my favourite shoot location, The Pavilion Hotel, for an editorial shoot with the wonderfully talented Claire Huish. Claire had caught my attention a little while ago after working with my good friend Katie Antoniou, so when she asked if I was interested in styling a colourful shoot inspired by Carmen Miranda, I didn't hesitate.

The shoot began with a rather bumpy start, as the original make up artist we'd booked had to go to A&E with two broken bones in her hand (hope you're feeling better, Madeline!). Fortunately, the lovely Michelle MacGregor stepped in at the last minute and the shoot went swimmingly!

I absolutely loved the eclectic colourful brief, as it allowed me to use pieces by two of my favourite designers - Charlotte Taylor and David Longshaw. Their mind blowingly-beautiful prints were perfectly complimented by incredible shoes by John Brunswick, whimsical headpieces by Her Curious Nature and bold jewellery by Ruby Browning and Disaya. Our lovely model, Jenna from Select, looked incredible and worked these powerful looks like an absolute pro.

I want to say a huge thank you to the amazing team for working so hard and making the shoot so much fun! I also want to thank Iroquois PR, Greene and Sheppard, Kitch and Honey, Sabrina of Her Curious Nature, Jennifer of Ruby Browning and John Brunswick for lending their incredible pieces. They were a true honour to work with.
Come back and see the final pictures soon!

Corrie Nielsen AW12

That's right, kids - it's London Fashion Week again! Wasn't it just Spring/Summer?! Time flies when you're busy being fashionable, I guess...

My first show of the season was the glorious Corrie Nielsen. I was fortunate enough to see her stunning SS12 collection (which I wrote about over at Swell Vintage), but I have to say this season surpassed my expectations.

My photographs didn't come out so well (but you can see them over on my Facebook page if you fancy), so I've borrowed some for the official London Fashion Week website. Here's a selection of my favourite pieces.

This season, Corrie Nielsen's collection featured rich colours, luxurious fabrics and masterful draping that was ruched in all the right places. With a generous mix of seductive chiffon and blood-red tartan tones, it's clear that Corrie's pieces are made for strong, empowered women that need a modern armour - in fact, I'm pretty sure she'd be the designer of choice for Elizabeth I or Boudica if they were around today. The collection was also complimented perfectly by a array of strikingly intricate headpieces, designed by the extremely talented Emma Yeo.

If you haven't guessed already, I absolutely loved the show and it was one of my favourites of the day. Judging by the attendance and the buzz surrounding the show, it's safe to say that both Corrie Nielsen and Emma Yeo are going to be around for a very long time, and I for one can't wait to see what they do next.

Editorial: Slave Magazine Issue 5

It's official - I've got 2 for 1 crazy. Last week I gave you the final photos and video from the Ayten Gasson AW12 lookbook shoot, and this week I have two lots of editorial to share from Issue 5 of Slave Magazine! It seems that February is the real time for giving (Sorry Christmas, you'll have to try harder this year...).

The first editorial was photographed by the very lovely Faye Sampson, and was loosely based on a Little Red Riding Hood theme. I posted the behind the scenes photos from this shoot back in November 2011, and I'm really pleased to be able to share it with you now.

Lookbook: Ayten Gasson AW12

Good news, everyone! Not only do I have the final photos from the Ayten Gasson Autumn/Winter 2012 lookbook shoot I styled recently, but I also have the beautiful behind the scenes video to share with you. Nothing like a 2 for 1 deal, eh? Here are a few of my favourite shots.

If you think the gorgeous Rosanna looks amazing in the pictures, just wait until you see the video! It fits with the decadent luxurious nature of Ayten Gasson's designs perfectly, and you can also see me browsing a clothes rail - if you weren't dying to watch it before, I bet you are now...

Isn't it stunning?! My good friend Alex Oliver made this film and she did a fantastic job, as always.

Big love and thanks to the entire team! I can't wait to work with you all again next season...
Special thanks to Sarah Graham, Carla Read, Koray Ozutayli Hussein, and the guys at Mosaica Restaurant.
